Detention Authority Clarification Act

Section 235(b)(2)(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1225(b)(2)(A)) is amended by striking an alien seeking admission and inserting the applicant for admission.

Section 236(c)(1) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1226(c)(1)) is amended—

(1) in each of subparagraphs (A), (B), and (C), by striking the comma at the end and inserting a semicolon;

(2) in subparagraph (D), by striking, or at the end and inserting a semicolon;

(3) in subparagraph (E)(ii), by striking the comma at the end and inserting; or; and

(4) by inserting after subparagraph (E) the following:

(F) is an applicant for admission described in section 235(a)(1),.
