Section 1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the LNG Export Security Act.

Section 2. Definition of the term public interest under the Natural Gas Act

Section 2 of the Natural Gas Act (15 U.S.C. 717a) is amended by adding at the end the following:

(12) Public interest means the consideration of—

(A) the development of—

(i) natural gas facilities in the United States; and

(ii) the domestic natural gas supply;

(B) domestic economic interests; and

(C) national security interests.
