Section 1. Clarification of protections for duty speech whistleblowers

Section 2302(f) of title 5, United States Code, is amended—

(1) by striking (1) A and inserting A;

(2) by striking paragraph (2);

(3) by redesignating subparagraphs (A) through (G) as paragraphs (1) through (7), respectively, and adjusting the margins accordingly;

(4) in paragraph (6), as so redesignated, by striking or at the end;

(5) in paragraph (7), as so redesignated, by striking the period at the end and inserting; or; and

(6) by inserting at the end the following:

(8) the disclosure is made during the normal course of duties of an employee, the principal job function of whom is to regularly investigate and disclose wrongdoing.
