Section 1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Passport Sanity Act.
(a) Defined term
In this section, the term covered document means a passport, passport card, or Consular Report of Birth Abroad issued by the Department of State.
(b) In general
The Secretary of State shall—
(1) ensure each application for a covered document only includes the gender designation male or female; and
(2) prohibit the issuance of a covered document that includes the unspecified X gender designation.
