RESOLUTION
Congratulating the Paseo Verde Little League baseball team on winning the 2026 Little League World Series United States Championship.
Whereas, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, the Paseo Verde Little League of Henderson, Nevada, representing the Mountain Region, defeated the Hamilton West Side Little League of Ohio in the United States Championship Game of the 2026 Little League World Series; Whereas the Paseo Verde Little League earned its place in the 2026 Little League World Series after winning the Nevada State Championship and advancing through the Mountain Region Tournament undefeated; Whereas Paseo Verde defeated Billings Big Sky Little League of Montana, 9-2, in the Mountain Region Championship Game to earn its second appearance in the Little League World Series in 3 years; Whereas, in Williamsport, Paseo Verde opened its World Series tournament with a dramatic 6-5 victory over the Hamilton West Side Little League of Ohio, overcoming a 3-run deficit and winning on a walk-off single by Hudson Cowley; Whereas Paseo Verde continued its remarkable run by defeating the Soundview Little League of Washington, 5-0, advancing further in the tournament; Whereas Paseo Verde then defeated the Davenport Northwest Little League of Iowa, 14-6, in the United States semifinal, exploding for 9 runs in the sixth inning and progressing to the United States Championship Game undefeated; Whereas Paseo Verde again beat Hamilton West Side, 12-2, clinching the United States title for a second straight year for Nevada; Whereas the Paseo Verde Little League players demonstrated exceptional skill, determination, teamwork, and resilience throughout their championship run; Whereas every member of the 2026 Paseo Verde Little League team contributed to this United States Championship title, including Michael Kleiner, Adrian Cruz, Owen Guzman, Payton Hinsen, Brooks McFarland, Hudson Cowley, Theo Bingham, Logan Edwards, James Esber, Michael Guerrero, Jace Ward, Carsynn Meyer, and Maddox Bryan; Whereas Manager Cory Edwards, Coach Bill Senne, Coach Lynn Cowley, and the team's volunteers, parents, families, and supporters have played an essential role in developing young athletes and building a culture of character, confidence, and teamwork within Paseo Verde Little League; Whereas the Paseo Verde Little League has become a source of tremendous pride for District One and Southern Nevada through its outstanding performance on the national stage; and Whereas the 2026 Paseo Verde Little League team has inspired young athletes throughout Nevada and demonstrated that hard work, perseverance, and collaboration can carry a community to the highest levels of youth baseball: Now, therefore, be it Resolved, That the House of Representatives congratulates and honors the Paseo Verde Little League of Henderson, Nevada, on winning the 2026 Little League World Series United States Championship, and commends the players, coaches, families, volunteers, and supporters for their extraordinary achievement.
