Section 1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Earth MRI Reauthorization Act of 2026.
(a) Purpose
Section 40201(c)(1) of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (43 U.S.C.31 l (c)(1)) is amended by inserting, which may include data derived from modern sensing technologies, including advanced geophysical data acquisition approaches, digital geochemistry and other advanced geochemical characterization methods, real-time or near real-time data acquisition systems, and data-driven analytical methods to improve the characterization of critical mineral, geothermal, natural hydrogen, and other subsurface resource systems after geophysical mapping.
(b) Integration of data sources
Section 40201(g) (43 U.S.C.31 l (g)) is amended—
(1) by redesignating paragraph (5) as paragraph (6);
(2) in paragraph (4), by striking and at the end; and
(3) by inserting after paragraph (4) the following:
(5) the 3D Hydrography Program of the United States Geological Survey; and.
