Section 1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the Workforce Dignity Act.

(a) Programs for blind and handicapped individuals

Section 15(c)(6) of the Small Business Act (15 U.S.C. 644(c)(6)) is amended by striking sheltered workshop each place it appears and inserting community rehabilitation program.

(b) Task force on purchases from the blind and severely handicapped

Section 133(c) of the Small Business Administration Reauthorization and Amendment Act of 1988 (15 U.S.C. 644 note) is amended by striking sheltered workshops and inserting community rehabilitation programs.

(c) Deductions for personal exemptions

Section 152(d)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 is amended—

(1) by striking sheltered workshop each place it appears and inserting community rehabilitation program;

(2) in subparagraph (A), by striking such workshop each place it appears and inserting such program; and

(3) in subparagraph (B), by striking Sheltered workshop defined in the heading and inserting Community rehabilitation program defined.

(d) Protection for veterans preference employees

Section 593 of title 40, United States Code, is amended—

(1) by striking sheltered workshop each place it appears and inserting community rehabilitation program;

(2) by striking sheltered workshops each place it appears and inserting community rehabilitation programs; and

(3) in subsection (a)(2), by striking Sheltered workshop in the heading and inserting Community rehabilitation program.

(e) Foster care programs

Section 477(b)(3)(F) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 677(b)(3)(F)) is amended by striking sheltered workshops and inserting community rehabilitation programs.

(f) Rule of construction

This Act shall be construed to amend Federal law to remove the term sheltered workshop without any intent to change the application of such law.
