Section 1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the No U.S. Funding for UNIFIL Act.

Section 2. Findings

Congress finds the following:

(1) On August 28, 2025, the United Nations Security Council adopted Resolution 2790 (2025), which decides to extend for a final time the mandate of UNIFIL … until 31 December 2026.

(2) It is therefore appropriate that United States support for the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon aligns with the timeline established in Resolution 2790.

(a) Prohibition on funding

Beginning on October 1, 2027, no funds authorized to be appropriated for the Department of State, the Department of Defense, or any other department of agency of the United States Government may be made available to support, contribute to, or otherwise fund the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (in this section referred to as UNIFIL) or any successor or subsidiary organization.

(b) Restriction on funding

In the event that the United Nations extends the mandate for UNIFIL beyond December 31, 2026, the United States shall withhold an amount equal to UNIFIL’s annual budget from the annual contribution of the United States to the budget of the United Nations for peacekeeping activities, until the date such mandate expires.
