No Presidential Self-Serving Lawsuits Act of 2026

Section 1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the No Presidential Self-Serving Lawsuits Act of 2026.

(a) Prohibition

A President may not file a civil action against the United States.

(b) Settlement agreement

The settlement agreement in Trump v. Internal Revenue Service, No. 1:26-cv-20609 (S.D. Fla.) is void.

(a) Prohibition on establishment of a compensation fund

No compensation fund may be established to settle a civil action brought against the United States by a President or former President and no Federal funds may be used with respect to the settlement agreement in Trump v. Internal Revenue Service, No. 1:26-cv-20609 (S.D. Fla.).

(b) Recovery of funds

The Secretary of the Treasury may take such actions as may be necessary to recover any Federal funds used in violation of subsection (a).
