Section 1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Community Firearm Safety Act of 2026.
Section 2. Gun safe giveaway programs authorized under Byrne grants
Section 501(a)(1) of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (34 U.S.C. 10152(a)(1)) is amended by adding at the end the following:
(J) Programs to provide gun safes (or other devices that are designed to be or can be used to store a firearm and that are designed to be unlocked only by means of a key, a combination, or other similar means) to individuals, at no cost to the individuals.
