Section 1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Campaign and Election Accountability Act.
(a) Prohibition
Section 319(a) of the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 (52 U.S.C. 30121(a)) is amended—
(1) in paragraph (1)(C), by striking or at the end;
(2) in paragraph (2), by striking the period at the end and inserting; or; and
(3) by adding at the end the following new paragraph:
(3) a person to knowingly help or assist a foreign national in violating this subsection.
(b) Effective date
The amendment made by this section shall apply with respect to contributions and donations made on or after the date of the enactment of this Act.
