Section 1. Assessments relating to the skilled technical workforce
Paragraph (2) of section 10314(b) of the Research and Development, Competition, and Innovation Act (42 U.S.C. 18994(b)) is amended—
(1) by inserting and biennially thereafter after Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act;
(2) by striking the results of an assessment and inserting a plan for initiating and maintaining a data collection and analytical capability within the National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics; and
(3) by striking surveys on— and all that follows through discretion of the Director and inserting surveys on the skilled technical workforce.
