Section 1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Restoring Inpatient Mental Health Access Act of 2025.
(a) In general
Section 1905(a) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1396d(a)) is amended—
(1) in paragraph (1), by striking (other than services in an institution for mental diseases);
(2) in paragraph (4)(A), by striking (other than services in an institution for mental diseases);
(3) by striking paragraph (14);
(4) in paragraph (15), by striking (other than services in an institution for mental diseases); and
(5) in the matter designated as subparagraph (B) following the last numbered paragraph of such subsection, by inserting furnished before January 1, 2027, after care or services.
(b) Conforming amendment
Section 1915(l)(1) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1396n(l)(1)) is amended by inserting and before January 1, 2027, after October 1, 2019,.
(c) Effective date
The amendments made by this section shall apply with respect to medical assistance furnished on or after January 1, 2027.
