Faithful Patriot Campaign Medal Act

Section 1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the Faithful Patriot Campaign Medal Act.

(a) Service medal required

The Secretary of Defense shall design and produce a military service medal, to be known as the Faithful Patriot Campaign Medal, to honor members of the Armed Forces and veterans who served on the border of the United States with Mexico in the course of Operation Faithful Patriot or a subsequent operation at such border.

(1) Issuance to retired and former members

At the request of an individual described in subsection (a), the Secretary of Defense shall issue the Faithful Patriot Campaign Medal to such individual.

(2) Issuance to next-of-kin

In the case of an individual described in subsection (a) who is deceased, the Secretary may provide for issuance of the Faithful Patriot Campaign Medal to the next-of-kin of the individual.

(3) Application

The Secretary shall prepare and disseminate as appropriate an application by which individuals described in subsection (a) and their next-of-kin may apply to receive the Faithful Patriot Campaign Medal.
