Section 1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Language Access in Transit Act.
Section 2. Nondiscrimination in language access
Section 5332 of title 49, United States Code, is amended—
(1) in subsection (c) by adding at the end the following new paragraph:; and
(3) The Secretary shall take affirmative action to ensure all persons receiving financial assistance under this chapter provide meaningful language access to services provided with such financial assistance to persons who are limited English proficient.
(2) in subsection (d) by striking subsection (b) and inserting subsections (b) and (c)(3).
