Section 1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Office of Management and Budget Inspector General Act.
(a) Establishment of Office
Section 401 of title 5, United States Code, is amended—
(1) in paragraph, (1) by inserting the Office of Management and Budget, after means; and
(2) in paragraph (3), by inserting the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, after means.
(b) Special provisions concerning the Inspector General of the Office of Management and Budget
Chapter 4 of title 5, United States Code, is amended by adding after section 421 the following new section (and by updating the table of contents for such chapter accordingly):
Section 421A. Special provisions concerning the Inspector General of the Office of Management and Budget
The Inspector General of the Office of Management and Budget shall only have jurisdiction over those matters that have been specifically assigned to the Office under law.
(c) Appointment
Not later than 120 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the President shall appoint an individual to serve as the Inspector General of the Office of Management and Budget in accordance with section 403(a) of title 5, United States Code.
