Introduced in the SenateDead

This bill died when its Congress ended.

Bills don't carry over between Congresses. Without re-introduction in a new session, it cannot advance.

This bill lets people who receive money from wildfire relief payments avoid paying federal income tax on that money. The relief payments cover losses like damaged homes, living expenses, medical bills, lost wages, and other wildfire-related costs. The tax break applies only to payments received between 2020 and the end of 2025.

  • Exclude wildfire relief payments from federal taxable income through December 31, 2025
  • Cover compensation for property damage, additional living expenses, lost wages, and personal injury
  • Apply only to payments received after 2019
