RESOLUTION

Recognizing the Kansas City Chiefs on the 54th anniversary of their first Super Bowl victory.

Whereas, on January 11, 1970, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Minnesota Vikings by a score of 23-7 in Super Bowl IV; Whereas this was the final game ever played by an American Football League franchise as the league merged with the National Football League in 1970; Whereas this triumph marked the first Super Bowl victory for the Kansas City Chiefs; and Whereas many recognize the defining play of this game, the fake run play, called the "65 Toss Power Trap", as one of the most important plays in the history of the Kansas City Chiefs: Now, therefore, be it Resolved, That the House of Representatives recognizes the Kansas City Chiefs on the 54th anniversary of their victory over the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV.
