Mr. Donalds submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

RESOLUTION
Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that Congress recognizes the unseen sacrifices and countless contributions of the Southwest Florida law enforcement community.
Whereas there are approximately--
(1) 308 law enforcement officers serving in the Cape Coral Police Department;
(2) 300 law enforcement officers serving in the Fort Myers Police Department;
(3) 29 law enforcement officers serving in the City of Sanibel Police Department;
(4) 48 law enforcement officers serving in the Naples Police Department;
(5) 43 law enforcement officers serving in the Marco Island Police Department;
(6) 1,800 law enforcement officers serving in the Lee County Sheriff's Office; and
(7) 1,300 law enforcement officers serving in the Collier County Sheriff's Office;
Whereas Florida Highway Patrol Troop F Headquarters is located in Fort Myers, Florida, and Troop F is staffed by 155 sworn individuals; and Whereas law enforcement officers in Southwest Florida--
(1) maintain an unwavering commitment to keep the Southwest Florida community, and its visitors, safe from harm;
(2) enforce the rule of law with fidelity to the constitutional rights and civil rights of the public; and
(3) work tirelessly with consistent integrity and valor on behalf of the Southwest Florida community: Now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That it is the sense of the House of Representatives that Congress recognizes the countless contributions and unseen sacrifices of the Southwest Florida law enforcement community, and in honor of National Police Week, Congress-- (1) expresses its sincere appreciation and gratitude for the brave men and women that serve as law enforcement officers in Southwest Florida; (2) appreciates the unwavering contributions, efforts, and dedication that law enforcement officers in Southwest Florida provide to keep the Southwest Florida community, and its visitors, safe from harm; (3) acknowledges that law enforcement officers may face danger while selflessly carrying out their public duty; and (4) recognizes that law enforcement officers are heroes within the Southwest Florida community.
