Mrs. Luna submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Rules

RESOLUTION

Providing for the consideration of the resolution (H. Res. 967) amending the Rules of the House of Representatives to permit Members to vote by proxy in certain cases, and for other purposes.

Resolved, That immediately upon adoption of this resolution, the House shall proceed to the consideration in the House of the resolution (H. Res. 967) amending the Rules of the House of Representatives to permit Members to vote by proxy in certain cases, and for other purposes. All points of order against consideration of the resolution are waived. The resolution shall be considered as read. All points of order against provisions in the resolution are waived. No amendment to the resolution shall be in order. The previous question shall be considered as ordered on the resolution to final passage without intervening motion except: (1) one hour of debate equally divided and controlled by the chair and ranking minority member of the Committee on Rules or their respective designees; and (2) one motion to recommit.

Sec. 2. Clause 1(c) of rule XIX shall not apply to the

consideration of H. Res. 967.
