Section 1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Stop Crimes Against Children Act.
Section 2. National Strategy for Child Exploitation Prevention and Interdiction
Section 101(c) of the PROTECT Our Children Act of 2008 (Public Law 110–401) is amended by adding at the end the following:
(20) Plans for coordination with nonprofit organizations and institutions of higher education with respect to the prevention, study, promotion, and implementation of best practices regarding preventing, identifying, and responding to crimes against children (including physical abuse, sexual abuse, abduction, sexual exploitation, and trafficking), and provision of evidence-based guidance on how best to support children who are victims of crimes, including cooperation and collaboration with—
(A) nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting children who are victims of crimes; and
(B) institutions of higher education with expertise in researching and training regarding crimes against children.
(21) Recommendations for Federal, State, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies for the promotion and implementation of best practices for the prevention and identification of crimes against children, as well as how to best respond to and support children who are victims of crimes.
