Section 1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the Preserving America’s Interests and Security in Trade Act.

Section 2. Modifications to designations of beneficiary countries

Section 502(c) of the Trade Act of 1974 (19 U.S.C. 2462(c)) is amended as follows:

(1) in paragraph (6)(B), by striking; and and inserting a semicolon;

(2) in paragraph (7), by striking the period at the end and inserting a semicolon; and

(3) by adding at the end the following new paragraphs:

(8) the extent to which such country allows, after the date of the enactment of this paragraph, construction of military bases by a covered nation (as such term is defined in section 4872 of title 10, United States Code);

(9) the extent to which such country is deepening its economic, diplomatic, and military relations with covered nations (as such term is defined in section 4872 of title 10, United States Code); and

(10) whether such country engages in activities that undermine United States national security or foreign policy interests.
