Section 1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the Wildfire Air Quality Act.

(a) In general

Section 319 of the Clean Air Act (42 U.S.C. 7619) is amended by adding at the end the following:

(c) Air quality monitoring data excluded during a wildfire event

In the event of a catastrophic or beneficial use wildfire determined by the Administrator to have a significant impact on air quality, the Administrator shall exclude air quality monitoring data that is directly due to such wildfire from use in determinations by the Administrator with respect to exceedances or violations of the national ambient air quality standard for any air pollutant.

(b) Rulemaking

Not later than 90 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency shall publish a final rule to carry out the amendment made by subsection (a).
