Section 1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the Emergency Vehicles Responsiveness Act of 2024.

Section 2. Exempting diesel-fueled emergency vehicles from certain air pollution requirements

Section 203 of the Clean Air Act (42 U.S.C. 7522) is amended by adding at the end the following:

(1) Exemption

Any diesel-fueled emergency vehicle or diesel-fueled emergency vehicle engine is deemed to be exempt from subsection (a)(1).

(2) Definition

In this subsection, the term emergency vehicle means a vehicle designed to be used under emergency conditions—

(A) to transport personnel and equipment; and

(B) to support the suppression of fires and mitigation of other hazardous situations.
