Section 1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Study Act of 2024 or the FACES Act of 2024.
Section 2. Report on enforcing the freedom of access to clinic entrances
Not later than 1 year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Attorney General shall submit a report to Congress that includes the following:
(1) Each action that is typically taken to identify and prosecute an alleged violation of section 248 of title 18, United States Code (commonly known as the FACE Act).
(2) Each discernable impediment to such identification and prosecution.
(3) Each discernable variation in the actions described in paragraph (1) throughout judicial districts and divisions.
(4) A plan to overcome the impediments described in paragraph (2) and resolve the variations described in paragraph (3).
(5) The methods used to disseminate best practice information on identifying and prosecuting a violation of section 248 of title 18, United States Code, by State and local law enforcement agencies, including how to address any barriers faced by such agencies.
(6) Recommendations pertaining to Federal legislation that is required to implement the plan under paragraph (4).
