Dennis John Benigno Traumatic Brain Injury Program Reauthorization Act of 2024

This bill reauthorizes through FY2029 several programs and resources relating to traumatic brain injuries. Specifically, the bill reauthorizes (1) the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC's) activities to prevent and raise awareness about traumatic brain injuries, including a national surveillance program; (2) the Administration for Community Living's (ACL's) grant program to improve access to rehabilitation and other services for those with traumatic brain injuries; and (3) ACL's grant program that supports protection and advocacy services (e.g., legal representation) for those with traumatic brain injuries. Additionally, the CDC must examine the available evidence for designating brain injury as a chronic condition and publish a report on its findings and recommendations.
